Neem oil can be golden yellow, yellow brown, reddish brown, dark brown, greenish brown and bright red. It has a rather strong smell, which is said to blend peanut and garlic odors. This consists mainly of triglycerides and includes several compounds of triterpenoid that are responsible for the bitter taste. It is hydrophobic in nature; it is formulated with surfactants to emulsify it in water for application purposes.
